In March passenger turnover at airport has reduced by more than a half
Passenger turnover at Riga International Airport in March of this year has dropped by 55.7 %, as compared to March 2019. Also the volume of cargo and post loaded and unloaded has decreased by 33 %.
Compared to 2018, in 2019 decrease recorded in freight transport
118 million tons of the freight was carried in transport by land and pipeline in 2019, which is a drop of 10.7 million tons (8.3 %) compared to 2018, when freight transport volume was the largest in the last five years. In 2019, freights transported to and from Latvian ports accounted for 62.4 million tonnes, which is 5.7 % less than in 2018, when freight transport volume also at ports was one of the largest in the last five years.

Freight and passenger transport continue to reduce
Compared to the nine months of 2018, during the nine months of 2019 the freight traffic with road and pipeline transport has decreased by 7.1 %.
Freight and passenger transport reduce in the first half
Compared to the 1st half of 2018, during the 1st half of 2019 the volume of freights carried by rail and road has decreased.
The collection of statistics includes information on the length of roads, number of vehicles and transport activities broken down by the main mode of transport and covers the period from 2010 to 2018. The collection contains detailed information on the road freights that was acquired with the help of sample survey of lorries conducted in 2010–2018. Selected indicators are compared to other countries.
In the 1st quarter, freight transport at ports increased, by rail and road – decreased
Compared to the 1st quarter of 2018, in the 1st quarter of 2019 the freight turnover at ports increased by 1.6 million tonnes or 10.4 %.
