In August passenger turnover at airport was four times smaller than a year ago
Passenger turnover at Riga International Airport in August this year has dropped by 77 %, as compared to August 2019.
In the 1st half decrease recorded in freight transport both by land and by sea
In the 1st half of 2020 compared to the 1st half of 2019, freight carried in transport by land and pipeline has reduced by 18.1 %, but at ports – by 30.1 %.
The collection of statistics includes information on the length of roads, number of vehicles and transport activities broken down by the main mode of transport and covers the period from 2010 to 2019. The collection contains detailed information on the road freights that was acquired with the help of sample survey of lorries conducted in 2010–2019. Selected indicators are compared to other countries.

Passenger turnover at Riga International Airport in July of this year has dropped by 77.5 %, as compared to July 2019. Also the volume of cargoes loaded and unloaded and post has decreased by 8.4 %.
In June passenger turnover at airport has increased five times as compared to May
The total number of passenger arrivals and departures at Riga International Airport in June comprised 55 466 – 45 thousand or 5 times more than in May.
In the 1st quarter decrease of 1.3 % recorded in freight transport by road
Compared to the 1st quarter of 2019, in the 1st quarter of 2020 freight transport by road reduced by 1.3 %.
In March, significant drop in the number of passengers carried by ferries and public transport
In March 2020, compared to March 2019, 52.2 % less passengers arrived at and departed from ports by ferries. In January, passenger turnover by ferry at ports comprised 64.3 thousand, in February – 62.4 thousand, but in March – 34 thousand passengers.
In the 1st quarter, freight transport at ports and by rail reduced significantly
Compared to the 1st quarter of 2019, in the 1st quarter of 2020 volume of freights by rail has dropped by 48.7 %, but freight turnover at ports – by 29.3 %.
