In October 2020, 90.1 thousand foreign and local guests were hosted at tourist accommodation establishments in Latvia, which is by 57.2 % less than in October 2019 and by 18.2 % less than in September 2019.

In the nine months of 2020, compared to the nine months of 2019, passenger traffic by all modes of transport has fallen.

In June Estonians visited Latvia more than a year ago
After the travel restrictions from neighbouring countries Estonia and Lithuania were lifted, rapid inflow of tourists was observed in June. The number of visitors from Estonia, as compared to June of the previous year, increased by 5.6 %, but the number of nights spent by them – by 17.6 %.
The collection of statistics includes information drawn from the survey of persons crossing the state border and the travellers survey that were carried out in 2019. It also includes statistics on activities of hotels and similar accommodation establishments, as well as travel agencies and rural tourism accommodation establishments. The indicators are compared with the previous years.
