In May, compared to April, the number of visitors in accommodation establishments in Latvia has doubled
In May 2020 the number of foreign and resident visitors comprised 30 thousand, which is 88.5 % less than in May 2019, but, compared to April of this year, it has increased more than 2 times.
In 2019, Latvian residents went on 10.4 million domestic trips
In 2019 Latvian residents went on 10.4 million trips in Latvia, which is 4.9 % less than a year ago, and spent EUR 363.2 million, 8.8 % more than a year ago.
In April, the number of visitors in tourist accommodation establishments in Latvia fell by 93.6 %
In April 2020 the number of foreign and resident visitors comprised 13.2 thousand, which is 93.6 % less than in April 2019. As compared to April of the previous year, the number of nights spent by visitors has reduced by 86.6 % and comprised 53.7 thousand nights.
In 2019 Latvian residents spent almost EUR 800 million on trips abroad
In 2019 Latvian residents went on 2.4 million trips abroad, which is 9.6 % more than a year ago, and spent EUR 799.5 million, 41.8 % more.
In the 1st quarter, drop of 13.1 % in the number of visitors in tourist accommodation establishments in Latvia
In the 1st quarter of 2020 the number of foreign and resident visitors comprised 399.5 thousand which is 13.1 % less than in the 1st quarter of 2019.
In 2019, the largest number of foreign travellers and amount of expenditure was reached in Latvia
In 2019 foreign travellers crossed the border of Latvia 8.3 million times, which is 7.3 % more than the year before. Traveller expenditure rose by 7.2 % and reached EUR 806.3 million.
