In 2017 there were 17.0 thou. job vacancies in Latvia, which is 2.6 thou. vacancies or 17.9 % more than in 2016.

Number of occupied posts went up by 9.3 thousand or 1 %
At the end of the first half of 2017 in Latvia there were 903.2 thousand occupied posts, and, compared to the end of the first half of 2016, the number has grown by 9.3 thousand or 1.0 %.
The number of job vacancies keeps increasing
At the end of the 1st quarter of 2017 there were 15.7 thousand job vacancies in the country, and the indicator has risen by 1.9 thousand or 13.6 %, as compared to the 1st quarter of 2016, and by 1.3 thousand or 8.7 %, compared to the end of 2016.

Number of occupied posts has increased by 7 thousand or 0.8 %
At the end of 2016 in Latvia there were 884.4 thousand occupied posts, and, compared to the end of 2015, the number thereof has grown by 7.0 thousand or 0.8 %.
In its content the yearbook is the most extensive annual publication that offers a broad picture of social and economic phenomena and processes in the country. Publication includes data on 2015 compared to previous years.
Statistical data collection contains statistics on the number of females and males, their breakdown by age and ethnicity, on marriages, divorces, fertility, mortality, morbidity, employment rate, unemployment, earnings, income, at-risk-of-poverty rate, social security, education, tourism, use of information technologies, crime, representation in legislative and executive institutions in 2015, in comparison with previous years.
Number of occupied posts has reduced by 3.2 thousand or 0.4 %
At the end of the 1st half of 2016 in Latvia there were 891.2 thousand occupied posts, and the number thereof has declined by 3.2 thousand or 0.4 %, as compared to the end of the 1st half of 2015. During the year, the number of occupied posts in private sector dropped by 2.4 thousand or 0.4 %, falling down to 601.0 thousand. In public sector the number of occupied posts accounted for 290.3 thousand – a decrease of 0.8 thousand or 0.3 %, as compared to the corresponding period of 2015.
