The informative leaflet reflects at-risk of poverty rate and social exclusion indicators in Latvia, as well as dimensions of indicator (at-risk-of-poverty rate, low work intensity, severe material deprivation) are analysed based on the data acquired via annual survey European Union Statistics on Income and Living Conditions (EU-SILC 2020). The leaflet contains tables and charts, as well as description of indicators characterising poverty and social exclusion.
In 2019, household disposable income increased by 6.8 %
Compared to 2018, in 2019 household disposable income1 increased by 6.8 %, reaching 583 euros per household member monthly. Population income grew significantly slower than in previous years.
In 2019 the number of population at risk of poverty continued to reduce
407 thousand persons or 21.6 % of the population of Latvia were at risk of poverty in 2019 – 1.3 percentage points less than in 2018.
