Foreign trade of Latvia in November 2009
In November 2009 the total foreign trade turnover at current prices reached 714.2 mln lats – less by 5.0% or 37.2 mln lats than a month before and less by 16.5% or 141.4 mln lats than in November last year, according to provisional data of Central Statistical Bureau.
In January – November 2009 foreign trade turnover value reached 7,462.1 mln lats – less by 32.9% or 3,664.3 mln lats than in the same period of 2008. Of which exports value comprised 3,235.7 mln lats – less by 21.6% or 890.8 mln lats, but imports value comprised 4,226.4 mln lats – less by 39.6% or 2,773.5 mln lats than in January – November 2008.

In November 2009 the most significant share (70.3%) in Latvia’s export had export to the countries of European Union, followed by the export to CIS countries – 15.0%. Main export partners were Estonia (14.6% of total export), Lithuania (14.4%), Russia (9.8%), Germany (8.3%) and Sweden (6.7%).
In November 2009 the most significant share in Latvia’s import had import from the countries of European Union (76.3%), followed by the import from CIS countries – 16.2%. Main import partners were Lithuania (16.2% of total import), Germany (13.2%), Russia (10.8%), Poland (10.1%) and Estonia (7.0%).
