Foreign trade of Latvia in September 2011
In September 2011 the total foreign trade turnover at current prices reached 1222.0 mln lats – 2.9% or 34.6 mln lats more than a month before and 17.0% or 177.3 mln lats more than in September 2010, according to provisional data of the Central Statistical Bureau.
In January – September 2011 foreign trade turnover value reached 9899.9 mln lats – 31.7% or 2385.5 mln lats more than in the corresponding period of the previous year. Of which export value comprised 4407.2 mln lats – an increase of 31.4% or 1052.6 mln lats, whereas import value constituted 5492.7 mln lats – 32.0% or 1332.9 mln lats more than a year ago.

In September 2011 the most significant share in Latvia’s export had export to the countries of the European Union (72.2%), followed by export to the CIS countries – 14.8%. The main export partners were Lithuania (16.6% of total export), Estonia (14.3%), Russia (11.0%), Germany (8.4%) and Poland (6.3%).
In September 2011 the most significant share in Latvia’s import had import from the countries of the European Union (78.5%), followed by import from the CIS countries – 12.6%. The main import partners were Lithuania (22.2% of total import), Germany (12.3%), Poland (8.0%), Estonia (7.2%) and Russia (6.8%).
