On changes of unit value of foreign trade in the 3rd quarter of 2010
Compared to the corresponding quarter of 2009, the unit value (UV) in the 3rd quarter of 2010 increased by 13.0 % for exported goods and by 12.7 % for imported goods, according to the data of the Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia. In its turn, compared to the previous quarter, unit value of exported goods increased by 2.2 %, and of imported goods - by 1.6 %.

1 Import unit value indices for the 1st and 2nd quarter of 2010 have been revised.
Compared to the previous quarter, the average level of export unit value in the 3rd quarter of 2010 was mostly promoted by the UV growth of wood and articles of wood, of base metals and articles of base metal, of plastics and articles thereof, as well as of prepared foodstuffs.
Compared to the 2nd quarter, the UV increase of transport vehicles, of textiles and textile articles, as well as of mineral products had the greatest impact on the average level of import unit value in the 3rd quarter of 2010.
