On changes of foreign trade unit values in the 1st quarter of 2011
Compared to the corresponding period of 2010, the unit value (UV) in the 1st quarter of 2011 increased by 16.8% for exported goods and by 9.6% for imported goods. In its turn, compared to the previous quarter, unit value of exported goods increased by 6.7%, and of imported goods rose by 1.0%.

Compared to the previous quarter, the average level of export unit value in the 1st quarter of 2011 was mostly influenced by the UV growth of base metals and articles of base metal, of prepared foodstuffs as well as of wood and articles of wood.
The UV increase of mineral products, of base metals and articles of base metals as well as of products of the chemical and allied industries had the greatest impact on the average level of import UV in the 1st quarter of 2011, if compared to the 4th quarter of 2010.
