On producer price changes in industry in October 2009
Compared to September 2009, producer prices in Latvian industry in October 2009 increased by 0.1%, according to the data of Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia. Over the year (compared to October 2008) producer prices have decreased by 8.8%.

Compared to September overall level of producer prices in October 2009 was increased by price growth in the manufacture of wood and products of wood (except furniture)1) (by 0.4 percentage points), in the manufacture of basic metals (by 0.3 percentage points), as well as in the manufacture of electrical equipment (by 0.2 percentage points). At the same time the decrease of the tariffs of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply2) had the main lowering impact on the producer price level (0.7 percentage points). Price decrease in the manufacture of wearing apparel and in the manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products lowered it by 0.1 percentage point in each activity.
Over the year, drop of the tariffs of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply had the biggest lowering impact on the overall level of producer prices (2.9 percentage points). The decrease of prices in the manufacture of basic metals lowered the producer price level by 1.9 percentage points, in the manufacture of wood and products of wood (except furniture) - by 1.5 percentage points, in the manufacture of food products - by 1.4 percentage points, in the manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products - by 0.5 percentage points.
