Data collection and statistical processing
Survey method and data source
Data on goods produced and sold are obtained with the help of enterprise survey, building a threshold sample. Data are collected from the CSB annual survey "Survey on production and sales of industrial goods" (statistical report form 1-Industry).
Target population and sample size
Data on the reference year are collected from economically active enterprises the main or secondary economic activity of which in compliance with NACE Rev. 2 is Mining and quarrying (Section B), Manufacturing (Section C) or Recovery of sorted materials (Class 38.32 of the Section E) and that in industrial production are employing 10 and more persons. In separate sectors, with an aim to ensure at least 90% of the national production volume during the reference year, enterprises employing fewer people are included in each class of the NACE Rev. 2.
Sample size in 2018 was 2 378 enterprises, 2017 – 2 568, 2016 – 2 516, 2015 – 2 540.
Data on the types of industrial products manufactured are acquired by summing data submitted by enterprises, in line with the codes of PRODCOM classification and groups of separate codes, to ensure that time series are comparable.
Data are collected and published according to
- List of Products of the European Community (PRODCOM) (corresponding version of each year);
- Statistical Classification of Economic Activities in the European Union, 2nd revision (NACE Rev. 2).
Revision of the published data is carried out if significant mistakes in enterprise reports are found or if respondent specifies some information.
Revised data are published at next publication time and the last three years are revised.
