Industrial production output in May 2011
In May 2011 industrial production output1 (at current prices) comprised LVL 409.6 million, according to the data of Central Statistical Bureau.

Compared to May 2011 industrial production volume in April 2011 has reduced by 1.3%, according to seasonally adjusted data at constant prices. Of which in manufacture – by 1.8%, in electricity and gas supply - by 2.1%, but in mining and quarrying there was an increase of 17.5%.
Compared to May of previous year, industrial production output in May 2011 at constant prices has increased by 10.2%, according to calendar adjusted data. Of which in mining and quarrying by 6.4%, in electricity and gas supply – by 3.3% and in manufacturing by 12.2%. It should be noted that out of 22 manufacturing sectors the increase was recorded in 16. The most notable growth of industrial production was observed in manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers – 81.6%, in manufacture of electrical equipment – 59.3%, and in manufacture of wearing apparel – 52.7%.The rise in manufacturing was significantly influenced by its largest sub-sector – manufacture of wood and articles of wood (growth of 14.9%, sector weight - 14.1%), as well as manufacture of fabricated metal products – of 38.6% (sector weight – 4.6%). The volume reduction in May, in comparison with May of previous year, was observed in six manufacturing sectors, and the highest decreases were recorded in manufacture of rubber and plastic products – 11.1%, in manufacture of textiles – 7% and in manufacture of beverages – 6.7%.
