Industrial output in April 2006
According to the data of Central Statistical Bureau, compared to April of the previous year, industrial output according to seasonally adjusted data rose in April 2006 by 4.3%, including 3.9% in processing, 6.0% in electricity, gas and water supply, and decreased by 2.6% in mining and quarrying.
Compared to April of the previous year, there was an increase by 9.3% in manufacturing of food products and beverages. Increases could be observed in the following sub-sectors: 16.5% in manufacturing, processing and preserving of meat and meat products; 18.0% in manufacturing of beverages; 14.3% in manufacturing of milk products; 6.9% in processing and preserving of fish and fish products; 6.0% in manufacturing of other food products (bread, confectionery and sugar). Production amounts have decreased in: manufacturing of grain mill products and of starch and starch products by 10.0%; processing and preserving of fruit and vegetables by 7.7%; manufacturing of prepared animal food by 6.2%.
In comparison with April of the previous year, the output in April 2006 increased in the following sectors by: 23.6% in manufacturing of textiles; 10.1% in publishing, printing and reproduction of recorded media; 15.5% in manufacturing of chemicals, chemical products and man-made fibres; 11.0% in manufacturing of other transport equipment (building and repairing of ships, boats, locomotives, and carriages); 10.2% in manufacturing of furniture; 9.0% in manufacturing of rubber and plastic products n.e.c.; 8.2% in manufacturing of pulp, paper and paper products; 7.9% in manufacturing of basic metals; 7.4% in manufacturing of fabricated metal products except machinery and equipment.
The decreases in industrial output were 14.1% in manufacturing of wearing apparel; 9.6% in manufacturing of electrical machinery and equipment; 8.4% in manufacturing of machinery and equipment n.e.c.; 2.7% in manufacturing of non-metallic mineral products (ceramics, cement, concrete and other products);. 1.2% in manufacturing of wood and articles of wood except furniture.
Compared to March 2006, industrial output in April 2006 decreased by 3.8%, including 8.1% in mining and quarrying, 5.6% in processing, whereas an increase of 3.0% could be observed in electricity, gas and water supply.
