Industrial production output in February 2010

In February 2010 industrial production output1 (at current prices) comprised LVL 288.2 mln, according to the data of Central Statistical Bureau.

Industrial production volume index


Compared to January 2010 industrial production volume in February 2010 has reduced by 3.0%, according to seasonally adjusted data at constant prices. Of which in manufacture – by 2.6%, in electricity and gas supply - by 5.8%, but in mining and quarrying there was an increase of 2.7%.

Compared to February of previous year industrial production output in February 2010 at constant has grown by 4.0%, according to working day adjusted data. Of which in manufacturing - by 1.3%, in mining and quarrying – by 6.4%, but in electricity and gas supply - by 13.4%.

Most notable increase of industrial production output was recorded in manufacturing of wood and cork articles, except furniture – 35%, but reduction in manufacture of non-metallic mineral products – 29.3%.

1 Data are compiled on economically active enterprises, which in industrial production employ 20 and more persons, or in which industrial turnover previous year exceeded LVL 300 thsd.
Industrial production volume in accordance with the Statistical Classification of Economic Activities NACE 2.rev. includes Mining and quarrying, Manufacturing and Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, except steam and air conditioning supply.
2 The influence of varying number of working days during the month is averted. This indicator was calculated only for comparison with corresponding period of previous year.
