Milk purchase, average purchase price and quality of purchased milk
Data on purchase of milk are characterising volume of milk produced and purchased in Latvia, average prices and average content of fat and proteins in milk.

Volume of purchased milk
The volume of purchased raw milk (thermally not processed) that milk procurement and processing enterprises purchase from Latvian milk producers which are approved and supervised by the Food and Veterinary Service.

Survey method and data source
As of 1 January 2007, the data source used for the milk purchase statistics and quality of purchased milk is the Milk Producer Register managed by the Agricultural Data Centre. From 2002 to 2006, the data source used for the milk purchase statistics was monthly statistical questionnaire 13-purchase "Report on Purchase of Milk".
All milk procurement and processing enterprises acknowledged by the FVS purchasing milk from all kinds of farms.
Data are collected and published in compliance with Classification of Administrative Territories and Territorial Units of the Republic of Latvia (CATTU).
