The Statistical Yearbook of Latvia is the most exhaustive annual publication of statistical information on the national economy and socio-economic processes in the country. The publication reflects data on 2019, compared to previous years.
The collection of statistics contains the key indicators characterising situation in agriculture in 2010, 2015, 2018 and 2019: sown areas, harvested production and yield of agricultural crops, number of livestock, livestock production, use of mineral and organic fertilisers, grouping of agricultural holdings by sown area and yield of agricultural crops and number of livestock, supply balance sheets and prices of agricultural products.
Larger volumes of meat produced in slaughterhouses
In March 2020, compared to the previous month, volume of meat produced in slaughterhouses has gone up by 0.8 thousand tonnes or 12.4 %.
The brochure contains tables and graphs depicting information on the social and economic situation in Latvia. The data are based on the provisional statistical information and covers the year 2019 in comparison with the previous years.
Number of dairy cows falls, but number of pigs and poultry grows
In 2019 number of dairy cows dropped by 6.1 thousand or 4.2 %, but number of non-dairy cows rose by 4.7 thousand or 9.2 %.

Decline in livestock number
In 2018, compared to 2017, cattle number dropped by 10.5 thousand or 2.6 %, of which number of dairy cows fell by 5.9 thousand or 3.9 %.
