Purchase of agricultural crops
The data reflect the volume and average purchase price of grain, pulses and rape purchased in Latvia from local producers. The information is collected by main type of cereals, pulses and rape.
Concepts and definitions
Average purchase price [agricultural crops]
The mean agreed price at which processing and procurement enterprises and businesses are purchasing grain, pulses and rape from agricultural holdings during the corresponding time period.
Volume of purchased agricultural products
Volume of purchased agricultural products includes all domestic products, which enterprises (business entities) have purchased from agricultural holdings.
Data on purchased grain are indicated at test weight, considering the compliance of the product quality indicators to the set standard.
Data on the purchased livestock and poultry are indicated in slaughter weight.
Survey method and data source
The data on the volume of grain, pulses and rape purchased and the average purchase price are acquired with a full-scope survey.
The data are acquired based on the CSB quarterly statistical questionnaire 1-purchase "Report on purchase of grain, pulses and rape".
All commercial companies that purchase grain, pulses, rape directly from Latvian producers – agricultural holdings.
Data are collected according to Classification of Administrative Territories and Territorial Units of the Republic of Latvia (CATTU).
