Glossary of concepts (terms) and their definitions relating statistical concepts.
Agricultural buildingsBuildings owned or rented by the holding and used in agricultural production within the last 12 months.
Basic training in agriculture – refers to all training courses providing basic knowledge in different agricultural branches, for which a qualification certificate has been received.
Vocational education or professional secondary education in agriculture – refers to a 1-year agricultural school (finished after acquired secondary education), professional school, vocational school, college, vocational secondary school, agricultural school or agricultural technical school.
Higher agricultural education – person has acquired vocational or academic higher education in agricultural field.
Vocational training undertaken during the last 12 months – knowledge was raised outside the holding in training courses organised by training centres, scientific institutions, where training programme is developed by specialists and pedagogues.
Technically and economically independent unit having common management producing agricultural products or preserving good agricultural and environmental conditions in the soil.
Holdings may produce also non-agricultural products and provide non-agricultural services.
Agricultural land [Agricultural census 2001]
Includes arable land, orchards, and meadows and pastures (Decree No.1 of the State Land Service of 3 January 1996).
If the farm does not used arable land, meadows or pastures, these land areas had to be recorded under unutilised agricultural land in the questionnaire. In case an orchard was planted on the arable land or a meadow, it was recorded under the area of perennial plantations decreasing correspondingly the area of arable land or a meadow.
Agricultural machineryNumber of agricultural machinery units owned by farmers and used for production of agricultural products. Joint property agricultural machinery is included in the agricultural holdings belonging to a natural or legal person, whose data are included in the registration certificate.
Agricultural products produced for saleProducts of field crops, horticultural crops, vegetables, livestock as well as other agricultural products sold outside the holding for charge, as labour remuneration or gifts, and agricultural services provided for charge, except veterinary services.
Agricultural service providersNatural or legal persons providing agricultural services.
A branch of economy, the main goal of which is production of agricultural products.
Aim of real estate useAllowed kind of use of real estate determined and approved by local government’s administrative body or state institution according to territory use allowed in local government’s territory and approved construction regulations.
Air emission accounts
Air emissions accounts record national economies’ emissions to air in a breakdown by emitting economic activities. Economic activities comprise production activities by industries as well as private households’ activities.
Air emission denote the physical flow of gaseous or particulate materials from the economic system (production or consumption processes) to the atmosphere which is part of the environmental system. Air emissions comprise emissions of greenhouse gases as well as emission of air pollutants such as e.g. SO2, NOx, PM10 etc.
