CSB gains its second international certificate
On 19 November, Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia (CSB) obtained ISO 9001:2015 certificate “Quality Management Systems – Requirements”, which is already the second international certificate gained by the CSB. The certification refers to the production of official statistics – planning, data acquisition, processing, analysis, and dissemination.
“We are very proud that we have introduced quality management system and received a prestigious international quality label. CSB is continuously working on the improvements, and the ISO certificates obtained serve as a proof of that. CSB, by producing official statistics, is working in line with international standards in the management of both quality and information safety,” says CSB President Aija Žīgure.
She points out that this achievement is a result of good teamwork and work processes developed and improved over many years. As the needs of data users and requirements of regulatory enactments are continuously growing, development is very challenging for each and every statistical institute, however it facilitates our growth.
Compliance of the quality management system with the international ISO 9001:2015 standard covers all structural units of the CSB, including data collection centres in Kuldīga, Valmiera and Preiļi.
Last year, CSB obtained ISO 27001:2013 certificate “Information Technology. Security Techniques. Information Security Management Systems”. To obtain the certificates, an independent audit was organised. The audit was conducted by an audit team from accredited certification organisation “BM Trada Latvija”.
