Data of the Central Statistical Bureau show that compared to February, the total retail trade turnover in March 2012 grew by 0.5%, according to seasonally adjusted data at constant prices. Retail trade in non-food products increased by 1%, whereas retail trade in food products declined by 0.7%.
As compared to the previous month, the total retail trade turnover at current prices, not taking into account the seasonality, in March 2012 increased by 9.3%.

Compared to March 2011, the total retail trade turnover in March 2012 increased by 10%, according to calendar adjusted data at constant prices. Rise in food commodity group comprised 3.2%. In its turn, retail trade in non-food products grew by 13.7%. Excluding retail sale of automotive fuel, the volume growth in this commodity group constituted 16.2%.

As compared to the 4th quarter of 2011, the retail trade turnover in the 1st quarter of 2012 increased by 3.4%, according to seasonally adjusted data at constant prices. In retail trade enterprises selling mainly non-food products it grew by 5.3%, whereas retail sale of food products decreased by 0.7%.
Compared to the 1st quarter of 2011, the turnover grew by 11.7%, according to calendar adjusted data. Retail trade in food products increased by 4.3% and in non-food products – by 15.6%.
