Data on the stock of energy resources are collected in accordance with the minutes of the Cabinet of Ministers meeting of 16 November 1999 No 63 "On situation in country at the beginning of the heating season". Data on the stock of energy resources are used to estimate the volume of energy resources on 1 October when the heating season starts.

In 2013 it was decided to terminate collection of these data, thus the last survey on the stock of energy resources was carried out in 2012.

Data collection

Survey method and data source

Within the framework of the full-scope survey data are acquired with the help of the CSB annual statistical report form 3-EK "Stocks of energy resources on October 1".

Target population

Covers heat energy producers producing heat for sale, except heat plants using natural gas.

Sample size

In 2012, 165 economically active enterprises were surveyed.

Data revision

Data may be adjusted.


Comparability over time

Data on the stock of energy resources on October 1 are available since 2000.


Confidentiality of the information provided by respondents is protected by the Section 17 of the Statistics Law stipulating rights and obligations of the Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia and other state authorities producing official statistics. Read more
