Data on housing stock are compiled by the location of the housing stock and are used to estimate provision of the resident population with it.

Definitions

The housing stock includes single-dwelling residential buildings, residential premises in multi-dwelling residential buildings and residential premises in non-residential buildings.

Permanent residents are inhabitants who permanently live in the flats or residential premises of the housing stock including those who are in temporary absence.

Residential building is a construction with more than half of the total floor space used for residential purposes. The total floor space of residential buildings includes area of residential premises (dwellings, rooms, kitchens and utility rooms), non-residential premises, as well as premises for common use of all building residents.

Classifications

Data on housing stock are compiled by using:

  • Classification of the Administrative Territories and Territorial Units (CATTU);
  • Classification of Types of Constructions.

A Classification Catalogue with classification codes and their explanations has been published on the CSB website.

Data collection

Survey method and source data

Data on housing stock are acquired basing on the results of the Population and Housing Census.

During the time period between Censuses, housing stock is calculated by using data of the State Land Service Real Estate State Cadastre information system.

Data revision

Data are not revised after publishing.

Data on housing stock are available since 1990.
