Data on electricity produced from renewable energy sources are used to find out the volume of electricity (GWh) produced in hydroelectric power plants, wind power plants as well as CHP plants from renewable energy sources and electrical capacity of these plants (MW).

Definitions

Electrical capacity is total maximum capacity of the device at the end of the year.

Gross volume of electricity produced during a year.

Data collection

Survey method and data source

Within the framework of the full-scope survey, data from the following CSB reports are used: 1-energy "Report on production of heat and electricity"; annex to the report 1-energy and annual report 1-energy sector "Report on activities of public electricity plants".

Statistical processing

Includes all cogeneration power stations, hydroelectric plants, wind power stations and other electric power stations.

Data revision

Data may be adjusted.

Comparability

Comparability over time

Data on electricity produced from renewable energy sources are available since 1990.

Confidentiality

Confidentiality of the information provided by respondents is protected by the Section 17 of the Statistics Law stipulating rights and obligations of the Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia and other state authorities producing official statistics. Read more
