On retail trade turnover in April 2009

Total retail trade turnover in April 2009 constituted LVL 309.3 mln, according to the data of Central Statistical Bureau, of which excluding automotive fuel – LVL 258.7 mln. In January – April 2009 these indicators were, respectively – LVL 1207.6 mln. and LVL 1017.1 mln.

Compared to March turnover of retail trade companies in April 2009 has increased by 0.3%, according to seasonally adjusted data (at constant prices). In retail trade companies selling food products it has increased by 2.7%, but in retail trade companies selling non-food products there was a decrease of 1.1%.

Compared to April 2008 in April of this year
, according to working (trade) day adjusted data, calculating at constant prices, total retail trade turnover has decreased by 29.6%. Still larger decrease of volume is observed in non-food products group – by 34.1%, smaller – in companies selling food products – by 20.2%.
