Value manufactured by enterprises has grown by 12% over a year

In 2012 enterprises manufactured production with the total value of LVL 19 bln 580 million (EUR 27 bln 860 mln) (at current prices). The bulk – LVL 6.9 bln (EUR 9.9 bln) or 35.4% were produced by industrial enterprises and LVL 6.8 bln (EUR 9.6 bln) or 34.5% – by enterprises of the services sector.

The value of production of trade and construction enterprises comprised LVL 3.3 bln (EUR 4.6 bln) or 16.7% and LVL 2.6 bln (EUR 3.8 bln) or 13.5% of the total value, respectively, according to provisional structural business statistics data for 2012* compiled by the Central Statistical Bureau.

As compared to 2011 the production value of enterprises in 2012 increased by 12.2%, of which in construction – by 17.7%, in trade – by 14.6%, in services – by 11.8% and in industry  - by 9.6%.

But the greatest share of value added was produced in the services sector – LVL 2.7 bln (EUR 3.9 bln) or 40.4% of the total volume calculating at current prices. It was followed by enterprises of industrial and trade sector - LVL 1.9 bln (EUR 2.7 bln) (27.7%) and LVL 1.6 bln (EUR 2.3 bln) (23.3%), respectively. In construction this indicator comprised LVL 0.6 bln (EUR 0.8 bln) or 8.6% of the total volume.

In 2012 the main share of the structure of value added was formed by gross output – LVL 3.7 bln (EUR 5.2 bln) or 53.7%, but personnel costs – 46.3%.

In 2012 each employed person produced value added in the amount of LVL 12.0 thsd (EUR 17.1 thsd). The largest share of value added per one employed person was in industry – LVL13.6 thsd (EUR 19.3 thsd), which was followed by services sector – LVL 12.4 thsd (EUR 17.7 thsd), trade – LVL 10.8 thsd (EUR 15.3 thsd) and construction – LVL 9.8 thsd (EUR 14 thsd).

Enterprise expenditure structure in 2012 shows that the largest expenditure share was formed by costs for purchase of goods and services – LVL 28.5 bln (EUR 40.5 bln) (at current prices) or 83.9%. Personnel costs, in its turn, constituted LVL 3.1 bln (EUR 4.5 bln) or 9.3% and gross investment in tangible goods – LVL 2.3 bln (EUR 3.3 bln) or 6.8% of the total costs.
