Retail trade turnover in October 2009

Compared to September, total retail trade turnover (according to seasonally adjusted data at constant prices) in October of this year reduced by 1.3%, according to the data of Central Statistical Bureau. Retail trade turnover in enterprises selling mainly food products reduced by 0.4%. In retail trade enterprises selling mainly non-food products the reduction was slightly higher – 1.7%.

Compared to October 2008 in October of this year, according to working (trade) day adjusted data, calculating at constant prices, total retail trade turnover has decreased by 29.1%. Still more significant reduction was recorded in non-food product group – by 32.3%. In retail trade enterprises selling mainly food products it reduced by 21.9%.

2009. Compared to corresponding period of 2008, in January-October of this year, according to working (trade) day adjusted data, calculating at constant prices, total retail trade turnover has decreased by 27.9%, of which in enterprises selling mainly food by 20.9%, but in ventures selling mainly non-food products – by 35.5%.
