On retail trade turnover in November 2008

Total retail trade turnover in January – November 2008 constituted LVL 3650 mln, according to the data of Central Statistical Bureau, of which in November – LVL 305 mln.

Compared to October in November 2008 it has decreased by 0.4%, according to seasonally adjusted data (calculating at constant prices). Retail trade of non-food products has decreased by 0.7%, but retail trade of food products increased by 0.2%.

Compared to November 2007 in November of this year, according to working (trade) day adjusted data, calculating at constant prices, total retail trade turnover has decreased by 15.1%. Most notable decrease was recorded in non-food product group – by 16.6%. Slightly less it has reduced in companies selling mainly food products – by 12.6%. Retail trade has grown only in retail trade via mail order houses – by 0.1%.

Compared to corresponding period of previous year in January – November 2008 retail trade turnover has decreased by 7.3% (working day adjusted data, at constant prices), of which in enterprises selling food it reduced by 7.6%, but in non-food retail trade – by 7.1%.
