Retail trade turnover in May 2011

Compared to April, total retail trade turnover in May 2010 has increased by 2%, according to seasonally adjusted data, calculating at constant prices. Retail trade of food products has decreased by 0.5%, but retail trade of non-food products has grown by 3.3%.

In the same time, in comparison with April, total retail trade turnover (not considering seasonality and price influence) has risen by 7.5%, calculating at current prices.

Compared to May 2010, total retail trade turnover in May 2011 has increased by 0.7%, according to calendar1 adjusted data (calculating at constant prices). Volume decrease (of 1.4%) was observed also in food commodity group, but retail trade of non-food products has grown by 1.7%, excluding retail sale of automotive fuel – by 7.3%.

In comparison with the corresponding period of previous year, retail trade turnover at current prices (not considering influence of calendar days and prices) has risen by 6.9%.
