On retail trade turnover in February 2008

Total retail trade turnover in February 2009 constituted LVL 288 mln, according to the data of Central Statistical Bureau, of which excluding automotive fuel – LVL 241.2 mln.

Compared to January in February 2009 it has decreased by 4.4%, according to seasonally adjusted data (at constant prices). Retail trade of food products has decreased by 4.5%, but retail trade of non-food products by 4.3%.

Compared to February 2008 in February of this year total retail trade turnover has decreased by 25.3%, according to working (trade) day adjusted data (at constant prices). Most notable decrease was recorded in non-food product group – by 29.4%. Less it has reduced in companies selling mainly food products – by 16.6%.

Starting with January 2009 retail trade turnover is listed according to Statistical Classification of Economic Activities NACE Rev. 2. Unlike NACE Rev.1.1 retail trade also includes fuel sale in fuel filling stations which previously was included in sale of motor vehicles and motorcycles.
