Retail trade turnover in August 2012

Compared to July, total retail trade turnover (according to seasonally adjusted data at constant prices) in August 2012 grew by 1%, according to the data of Central Statistical Bureau. Retail trade in non-food products increased by 2.3%, whereas turnover of retail trade enterprises selling mainly food products diminished by 1.7%.

In comparison with the month before, total retail trade turnover at current prices, not considering the seasonality, in August of this year has risen by 4.9%.

Compared to August 2011, total retail trade turnover in August 2012 has grown by 10%, according to calendar adjusted data at constant prices. Rise in food commodity group comprises 2.8%, while retail trade in non-food products has increased by 13.4%, of which retail sale of automotive fuel - by 17%.

In comparison with the corresponding month of the previous year, total retail trade turnover at current prices, not taking into account the calendar influence, has risen by 9.8%.
