Retail trade turnover in August 2009

Total retail trade turnover in August 2009 constituted LVL 303.5 mln, according to the data of Central Statistical Bureau, of which excluding automotive fuel – LVL 241.3 mln. In January – August 2009 these indicators comprised LVL 2458.0 mln and LVL 2027.6 mln, respectively.

Compared to July total retail trade turnover in August of this year has decreased by 3.3%, according to seasonally adjusted data (calculating at constant prices). In companies selling mainly food products retail trade stayed at the same level as in July, but in enterprises selling mainly non-food products there was a reduction – of 5.1%.

Compared to August 2008 total retail trade turnover in August of this year has decreased by 30.3%, according to working (trade) day adjusted data, calculating at constant prices. Still more significant reduction was recorded in non-food product group – by 33.6%. In retail trade enterprises selling mainly food products it reduced by 23.2%.
