Retail trade turnover in April 2012

Data of the Central Statistical Bureau show that compared to March, the total retail trade turnover (according to seasonally adjusted data at constant prices) in April 2012 decreased by 2.1%. Retail trade in non-food products declined by 2.8%, whereas retail trade in food products - by 0.7%.
As compared to the previous month, the total retail trade turnover at current prices, not taking into account seasonality, in April 2012 decreased by 0.5%.

Compared to April 2011, the total retail trade turnover in April 2012 increased by 7.8%, according to calendar adjusted data at constant prices. Rise in food commodity group comprises 2.2%. In its turn, retail trade in non-food products grew by 10.7%, of which retail sale of automotive fuel – by 10.3%.
Compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, the total retail trade turnover at current prices increased by 8.6%, not taking into account the calendar influence.
