On producer price changes in industry in September 2012

Compared to August, the overall level of producer prices in the Latvian industry in September 2012 has not changed, according to the data of the Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia. The prices of goods sold at the domestic market grew by 0.1%, whereas prices of exported products reduced by 0.2%. Price growth in the printing and reproduction of recorded media (of 4.3%), in the manufacture of food products (of 0.4%), in the manufacture of wood and products of wood, except furniture (of 0.4%), and in the waste collection, treatment and disposal activities; materials recovery (of 2.3%) had the greatest increasing impact on the overall level of producer prices.In its turn, price decrease in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply had the most significant lowering impact on the overall level of producer prices (by 1.1%).

Compared to September 2011, the overall level of producer prices in the Latvian industry in September 2012 increased by 2.6%. The prices of goods sold at the domestic market grew by 3.2%, whereas prices of exported products rose by 1.9%.The most notable price growth was recorded in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (of 6.0%), in the manufacture of food products (of 3.0%), in the manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products (of 24.0%), and in the manufacture of wood and products of wood, except furniture (of 1.5%).In its turn, price drop in the manufacture of basic metals (of 6.1%) had the greatest lowering impact on the overall level of producer prices.
