On producer price changes in industry in September 2011

Compared to August, the overall level of producer prices in Latvian industry in September 2011 decreased by 0.4%, according to the data of the Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia. Producer prices for the products sold in the domestic market diminished by 0.1%, but prices of exported goods reduced by 0.9%. The most notable price decrease was recorded in manufacture of chemicals and chemical products (of 7.1%), in manufacture of food products (of 0.5%), in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (of 0.4%) and in manufacture of beverages (of 2.2%). In its turn, the price growth in printing and reproduction of recorded media (of 9.8%) had the most significant increasing impact on the overall level of producer prices.  

Compared to September 2010, the producer prices in industry in September 2011 have risen by 6.8%. The prices of goods sold in the domestic market grew by 8.9%, but prices of exported production increased by 4.1%. Price changes in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (of 11.4%), in manufacture of food products (of 7.7%), in manufacture of basic metals (of 13.2%), in printing and reproduction of recorded media (of 30.8%) and in manufacture of chemicals and chemical products (of 18.8%) had the most significant upward impact on the overall level of producer prices.
