On producer price changes in industry in November 2012

Compared to October 2012, producer prices in Latvian industry in November 2012 decreased by 0.2%, according to the data of the Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia. The average producer price level of goods sold at the domestic market increased by 0.2%, whereas prices of exported products decreased by 0.6%. Price growth in the manufacture of food products (of 1.0%), in the manufacture of wearing apparel (of 2.5%) and in the manufacture of fabricated metal products (except machinery and equipment) (of 1.0%) had the greatest increasing impact on the overall level of producer prices. In its turn, price decrease in the manufacture of wood and products of wood (except furniture) (of 1.9%) and in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (of 0.7%) had the most significant lowering impact on the overall level of producer prices.

Compared to November 2011, the overall level of producer prices in November 2012 increased by 3.2%. The producer prices of goods sold at the domestic market grew by 4.3%, whereas prices of exported products rose by 2.0%. The most notable price growth was recorded in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (of 6.6%), in the manufacture of food products (of 4.9%), and in the manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products (of 21.2%). In its turn, price drop in the manufacture of basic metals (of 2.5%) had the greatest lowering impact on the overall level of producer prices.
