On producer price changes in industry in November 2007

Compared to October, producer prices in Latvian industry in November 2007 decreased by 0.1%. Compared to November 2006 producer prices have increased by 14.0%.

Compared to October, the overall level of producer prices in November was mostly effected by the following price decreases: in the manufacture of wood and of products of wood, except furniture and in the manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products – by 0.3 percentage points in each industry, as well as in the manufacture of furniture; manufacturing, n.e.c. – by 0.2 percentage points. The price increase in the manufacture of food products and beverages increased the overall level by 0.6 percentage points, in the publishing, printing and reproduction of recorded media – by 0.2 percentage points.

Over the year the price increase in the manufacture of food products and beverages left the biggest impact on the overall level of producer prices, increasing it by 4.1 percentage point. The price rise in the manufacture of wood and of products of wood, except furniture increased the overall level of producer prices by 2.9 percentage points. The rise in the tariffs of electricity, gas, steam and hot water supply increased the overall level of producer prices by 2.7 percentage points, in the manufacture of non-metallic mineral products – by 0.9 percentage points, in publishing, printing and reproduction of recorded media – by 0.8 percentage points.
