On producer price changes in industry in June 2012

Compared to May, the overall level of producer prices in the Latvian industry in June 2012 increased by 0.2%, according to the data of the Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia. Prices of goods sold on the domestic market grew by 0.1%, whereas prices of exported products rose by 0.3%. Price growth in the manufacture of food products (of 1.0%), in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (of 0.4%) had the most significant upward impact on the overall level of producer prices. In its turn, price decrease in the manufacture of base metals (of 3.3%) and in the waste collection, treatment and disposal activities, materials recovery (of 2.4%) had the most notable lowering impact on the overall level of producer prices.

Compared to June 2011, the overall level of producer prices in the Latvian industry in June 2012 increased by 2.3%.The prices of goods sold on the domestic market grew by 2.9%, whereas prices of exported products rose by 1.5%. The most notable price growth was recorded in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (of 4.0%), in the manufacture of food products (of 2.0%), in the mining and quarrying (of 7.9%), as well as in the manufacture of non-metallic mineral products (of 4.5%).
