On producer price changes in industry in June 2011

Compared to May, the overall level of producer prices in Latvian industry in June 2011 increased by 0.5%, according to the data of the Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia.Producer prices for the products sold on the domestic market grew by 1.2%, but prices of exported goods reduced by 0.5%.Most notable price growth was recorded in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (of 2.6%), in the manufacture of food products (of 0.9%) and non-metallic mineral products (of 1.6%).In its turn, price decrease in the manufacture of basic metals (of 2.2%) and in the waste collection, treatment and disposal activities, materials recovery (of 2.9%) has the most significant lowering impact on the overall level of producer prices.

Compared to June 2010, the producer prices in industry in June 2011 increased by 7.3%.The prices of products sold on the domestic market rose by 8.9%, while prices of exported products grew by 5.2%.Price changes in the manufacture of food products (of 12.6%), as well as in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (of 8.4%), in the manufacture of basic metals (of 11.3%), chemicals and chemical products (of 33.3%) and in the manufacture of wood and products of wood, except furniture (of 3.5%) had the biggest upward impact on the overall level of producer prices.
