On producer price changes in industry in July 2011

Compared to June, the overall level of producer prices in Latvian industry in July 2011 increased by 0.7%, according to the data of Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia. Producer prices for the products sold on the domestic market grew by 0.4%, but prices for the exported goods rose by 1.2%. The most notable price growth was recorded in the manufacture of basic metals (of 6.4%), beverages (of 1.5%), as well as in the printing and reproduction of recorded media (of 3.5%). In its turn, price decrease of 1.1% in thewaste collection, treatment and disposal activities; materials recovery had the most significant lowering impact on the overall level of producer prices.

Compared to July 2010, the producer prices in industry in July 2011 increased by 8.0%. The prices of products sold on the domestic market rose by 8.9%, while prices of exported products grew by 6.8%. Price changes in the manufacture of food products (of 11.6%), in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (of 7.7%), in the manufacture of basic metals (of 23.7%), chemicals and chemical products (of 32.3%) had the biggest upward impact on the overall level of producer prices.
