On producer price changes in industry in July 2007

Compared to June, producer prices in Latvian industry in July 2007 rose by 0.8%. Compared to July 2006 producer prices have increased by 17.6%.

Compared to June, the overall level of producer prices in July was mostly raised by the price increase in the manufacture of wood and of products of wood except furniture, in publishing, printing and reproduction of recorded media, the tariff increase of electricity, gas, steam and hot water supply and the price raise in themanufacture of food products and beverages (by 0.2 percentage points in each of activities).

Over the year the price increase in the manufacture of wood and of products of wood except furniture left the biggest impact on the overall level of producer prices, increasing it by 6.0 percentage points. The overall level of producer prices was raised by the following price increases: 2.6 percentage points in electricity, gas, steam and hot water supply, 2.3 percentage points in the manufacture of food products and beverages, 1.1 percentage point in the manufacture of non-metallic mineral products, 0.9 percentage points in publishing, printing and reproduction of recorded media, 0.5 percentage points in the manufacture of fabricated metal products except machinery and equipment as well as in the manufacture of furniture and manufacturing not classified otherwise and 0.4 percentage points in manufacture of rubber and plastic products.
