In November, retail trade turnover grew by 4.6 %

Calendar adjusted data (at constant prices) compiled by the Data of Central Statistical Bureau (CSB) show that, compared to November 2015, in November 2016 total retail trade turnover rose by 4.6 %. Turnover of retail trade in food products decreased by 1.5 %, whereas turnover of retail trade in non-food products increased by 8.7 %.

Compared to November 2015, in November 2016 the most significant turnover growth in the non-food product group was recorded in retail sale via mail order houses or via Internet (of 42.6 %), retail sale of clothing, footwear and leather goods (of 22.7 %), retail sale of electrical household appliances (of 15.4 %), retail sale of cultural and recreation goods (of 8.9 %), and retail sale of pharmaceutical and medical goods (of 7.3 %).  Turnover decline was observed in retail sale via stalls and markets (of 4.2 %), retail sale in non-specialised stores with food predominating (of 1.5 %), as well as retail sale of information and communication equipment (of 1.2 %).  Turnover of retail sale of automotive fuel grew by 11.4 %.

Total retail trade turnover at current prices rose by 6.4 % (not taking into account the calendar influence).

Compared to October, in November 2016 total retail trade turnover went up by 1.3 % (according to seasonally adjusted data at constant prices). Turnover of retail trade in food products increased by 0.5 %, and turnover of retail in non-food products by 1.9 %.

Turnover growth was recorded in retail sale via mail order houses or via Internet (of 8.1 %), retail sale of cultural and recreation goods (of 2.3 %), retail sale in non-specialised stores with food predominating (1.9 %), retail sale of pharmaceutical and medical goods (of 1.1 %), retail sale of clothing, footwear and leather goods (of 1.0 %), and retail sale of automotive fuel (of 2.5 %). Turnover drop was registered in retail sale of information and communication equipment (of 4.6 %), retail sale of electrical household appliances (of 1.9 %), and retail sale via stalls and markets (of 5.5 %).

Compared to October, in November 2016 total retail trade turnover at current prices decreased by 4.0 % (not taking into account seasonality).
