In May retail trade experienced annual increase of 2.1%

Data of Central Statistical Bureau show that, compared to April, the total retail trade turnover in May 2014 dropped by 3.0%, according to seasonally adjusted data at constant prices. Retail trade in food products has remained the same, whereas of non-food products reduced by 5.0%.

Compared to April, the total retail trade turnover at current prices, not taking into account seasonality, in May rose by 2.3%. A year ago - in May 2013, compared to April 2013 - turnover grew by 10.6%.

Compared to May 2013, the total retail trade turnover in May 2014 increased by 2.1%, according to calendar adjusted data at constant prices. Rise in food commodity group comprised 7.3%. In non-food commodity group there was a 1.4% drop, of which in retail sale of automotive fuel – 1.5%.

In comparison with May of the previous year, total retail trade turnover at current prices rose by 1.4% (not taking into account the calendar influence).

In first five months, as compared to first five months of the previous year, retail trade turnover in total has grown by 3.9%, according to calendar adjusted data. Rise in food commodity group comprised 5.3%, but retail trade in non-food products has grown by 2.9%.
