In March producer prices increased by 0.1%

Compared to February, the overall level of producer prices in Latvian industry in March 2013 increased by 0.1%, according to the data of Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia. The prices of products sold on the domestic market reduced by 0.4%, whereas prices of exported products increased by 0.7%. The most significant price growth was recorded in manufacture of wood and products of wood, except of furniture (by 0.9%), manufacture of wearing apparel (by 3.5%) and manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products (by 0.9%). Price fall in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (of 0.4%), manufacture of food products (by 0.4%) and manufacture of basic metals (by 0.9%) had the greatest downward impact on the producer prices.

In March 2013, the overall level of producer prices in Latvian industry, compared to March of previous year, increased by 2.2%. The rise in prices of products sold on the domestic market was 0.8%, but prices of exported products rose by 3.8%. The most notable price increase was observed in manufacture of food products (of 3.6%), and in manufacture of wood and products of wood, except furniture (of 3.2%), while reduction of prices in waste collection, treatment and disposal activities; materials recovery (of 6.4%) had the biggest downward impact on the producer prices.
