On manufacturing turnover in October 2012


Data of the Central Statistical Bureau show that, compared to September 2012, manufacturing turnover1, according to seasonally adjusted data at current prices, in October 2012 decreased by 3.9%, of which by 2% in the domestic market and by 5.5% in exports.

The most notable drop was recorded in manufacture of basic metals – of 31.7% (decrease both in domestic market and exports), in manufacture of chemicals and chemical products – of 28.3% (decrease of 34.4% in domestic market and of 26.2% in exports), and in manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers – of 14.8% (decrease of 9.7% in domestic market and of 15.4 % in exports).

In its turn, according to seasonally non-adjusted data manufacturing turnover increased by 3.9%, of which in the domestic market – by 5.4% and in exports – by 2.7%.

Compared to October 2011, manufacturing turnover in October 2012, according to calendar adjusted data increased by 7.6%, of which in the domestic market by 0.8% and in exports - by 14.4%. As compared to the corresponding period of the previous year manufacturing turnover at current prices not considering influence of calendar days increased by 13.8%, of which in the domestic market – by 6.8% and by 20.7% in exports.Increase in manufacturing turnover was mostly affected by growth in manufacture of food products, in manufacture of pharmaceutical products, in manufacture of basic metals and in mechanical engineering sub-sectors.
