On manufacturing turnover in May 2012


Data of the Central Statistical Bureau show that, compared to April 2012, manufacturing turnover1 at current prices (according to seasonally adjusted data) in May 2012 has increased by 3.3%, of which in domestic market by 2.3% and in export - by 4.2%. Most notable rise was recorded in manufacture of machinery and equipment – of 66.6% (increase in domestic market 2.9 times, whereas decrease of 4.8% in export), in manufacture of other transport equipment (building of ships and boats, manufacture of railway locomotives and rolling stock) – of 14.3% (growth in both domestic market and export), in manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products – of 10.8% (of 2.8% in domestic market and of 12.5% in export), in manufacture of electrical equipment – of 10.7% (of 8.3% in domestic market and of 11.3% in export). Whereas the most significant reduction was observed in repair and installation of machinery and equipment – of 25.6% (of 26.3% in domestic market and of 17.1% in export), in manufacture of chemicals and chemical products – of 2.7% (decrease of 3.3% in export, while in domestic market turnover has stayed at the level of the previous month), in manufacture of rubber and plastic products – of 2.6% (rise of 9.8% in domestic market and drop of 11.5% in export).
Compared to May 2011, manufacturing turnover in May 2012, according to calendar adjusted data, increased by 14.2%, of which in domestic market by 8.5% and by 20% in export.
