On manufacturing turnover in March 2012

Compared to February 2012, manufacturing turnover1 at current prices (according to seasonally adjusted data) in March 2012 increased by 5.6%, of which in the domestic market - by 2.4% and in export - by 8.6%, according to the data of the Central Statistical Bureau. The most significant growth was registered in the manufacture of other transport equipment (building of ships and boats, manufacture of railway locomotives and rolling stock) – of 2.5 times (decrease in the domestic market and rise in export), in the manufacture of vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers – of 21.7% (decrease of 2.4% in the domestic market and increase of 24% in export) and in the manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations – of 13.9% (decrease in the domestic market and increase in export).

Compared to March 2011, manufacturing turnover in March 2012, according to calendar adjusted data, increased by 14.8%, of which in the domestic market – by 9.5% and in export – by 19.5%. The most notable growth was recorded in the manufacture of other transport equipment (building of ships and boats, manufacture of railway locomotives and rolling stock) – of 5.5 times (increase both - in the domestic market and in export), in the repair and installation of machinery and equipment – of 2.4 times (2.4 times in the domestic market and 2 times in export) and in the manufacture of electrical equipment – of 56.5% (decrease of 9.3% in the domestic market and increase of 90.4% in export).

Compared to the 4th quarter of 2011, manufacturing turnover in the 1st quarter of 2012, according to seasonally adjusted data, increased by 4.3%, of which in the domestic market – by 0.2% and in export – by 8.4%.

Compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous year, manufacturing turnover in the 1st quarter of 2012 increased by 13.6% (according to calendar adjusted data), of which in the domestic market – by 11.9% and in export – by 15.1%.
