On manufacturing turnover in June 2012

Data of the Central Statistical Bureau show that, compared to May 2012, manufacturing turnover1 at current prices (according to seasonally adjusted data) in June 2012 decreased by 3.1%, of which in the domestic market by 3% and in export - by 3.1%. The most notable drop was recorded in manufacture of other transport equipment (building of ships and boats, manufacture of railway locomotives and rolling stock) – of 40.4% (decrease both – in the domestic market and in export), in manufacture of basic metals - of 18.7% (decrease both – in the domestic market and in export), in manufacture of wood and cork articles, except furniture – of 1.9% (of 1.8% in the domestic market, and of 2.1% in export) and in manufacture of food products - of 0.4% (decrease of 1.4% in the domestic market and increase of 2.5% in export).

Compared to June 2011, manufacturing turnover in June 2012, according to calendar adjusted data increased by 7.3%, of which in the domestic market by 0.2% and in export - by 14.8%. The most notable rise was recorded in manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products – of 61.5% (of 56.8% in the domestic market and of 62.4% in export), in manufacture of electrical equipment – of 52.3 % (drop of 4.6% in the domestic market and increase of 73.8% in export) and in repair and installation of machinery and equipment – of 44.6% (of 46.1% in the domestic market and of 32.4% in export).

Compared to the 1st quarter of 2012,manufacturing turnover in the 2nd quarter of 2012 according to seasonally adjusted data increased by 1.3%, of which in the domestic market – by 0.3% and in export – by 2.3%.

Compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous year, manufacturing turnover in the 2nd quarter of 2012 rose by 11% (according to calendar adjusted data), of which in the domestic market – by 5.3% and in export – by 16.7%.

Compared to the corresponding period of previous year, manufacturing turnover in the 1st half of 2012 grew by 12.2% (according to calendar adjusted data), of which in the domestic market – by 8.3% and in export – by 15.9%.
