Manufacturing turnover in July has dropped by 0.3%, while during year it has grown by 1%

Latest seasonally adjusted data (at current prices) of the Central Statistical Bureau show that, compared to June 2013, manufacturing turnover in July 2013 has decreased by 0.3%, of which by 0.6% in domestic market, whereas in export there was a rise of 0.2%. Manufacturing turnover 1 characterises monthly changes in demand for industrial goods and services on the market.

In comparison with the previous month, the most notable turnover reduction was recorded in repair and installation of machinery and equipment (repair and maintenance of ships and boats, repair of fabricated metal products, machinery and equipment, installation of industrial machinery and equipment) – of 10.9% (drop in domestic market of 15.1%, and increase in export of 23%), in manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers – of 9% (diminish in export of 11.7% and rise in domestic market of 2.6%), and in manufacture of beverages – of 6.6% (decrease in domestic market of 8.9% and growth in export of 1.4%). Turnover drop in both domestic market and export was observed also in sectors having the largest share: wood processing (of 5.8%) and metalworking (of 5.4%). Turnover in manufacture of food products remained at previous month’s level.

As compared to June, turnover increase was recorded in manufacture of other transport equipment – of 47% (increase in both domestic market and export), in manufacture of electrical equipment – of 11.3% (rise in both markets), and in manufacture of chemicals and chemical products – of 8.3% (growth was mainly influenced by export, while domestic market indicated a reduction).

Compared to July 2012, turnover in manufacturing (according to calendar adjusted data) has increased by 1%, of which by 5.2% in domestic market, while in export there was a reduction of 4.4%.
