On manufacturing turnover in January 2012

Compared to December 2011, manufacturing turnover1 at current prices (according to seasonally adjusted data) in January 2012 has increased by 8.7%, of which in domestic market - by 3.4% and in export - by 13.9%, according to the data of the Central Statistical Bureau.

Most notable rise was recorded in repair and installation of machinery and equipment (repair and maintenance of ships and boats, repair of fabricated metal products, machinery and equipment, installation of industrial machinery and equipment) – of 44.7% (47.7% in domestic market and 10.1% in export), in manufacture of basic metals – of 44.4% (growth in both domestic market and export), and in manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations – of 20% (increase in both domestic market and export). Whereas most significant reduction was observed in manufacture of food products - of 3.2% (3% in domestic market and 3.9% in export), in publishing, printing and reproduction of recorded media – of 2.7% (8.3% decrease in domestic market and 6.2% rise in export), and in manufacture of other transport equipment – of 1.8% (drop in both domestic market and export).

Compared to January 2011 manufacturing turnover at current prices (according to calendar adjusted data) in January 2012 has grown by 15.3%, of which in domestic market - by 14.1% and in export - by 16.3%. The increase in the manufacturing turnover was mainly influenced by the sub-sectors of wood-processing, non-metallic mineral products, fabricated metal products and repair and installation of machinery and equipment.

Remarkable turnover rise was recorded in repairand installation of machinery and equipment – of 97.6% (2.1 times in domestic market and reduction of 17.9% in export), in manufacture of electrical equipment - of 70.8% (17.9% in domestic market and 94.5% in export), and in manufacture of non-metallic mineral products - of 56.8% (increase of 66.4% in domestic market and 52% in export).
