Compared to January 2012, manufacturing turnover1 at current prices (according to seasonally adjusted data) in February 2012 has decreased by 5.7%, of which in domestic market - by 2.8% and in export - by 8.4%, according to the data of the Central Statistical Bureau.
Most notable reduction was recorded in manufacture of basic metals – of 37.3% (decrease in both domestic market and export), in manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers – of 15.8% (drop in export of 17.3%, while in domestic market there was a rise of 2.5%), in manufacture of wood and cork articles, except furniture – of 10.5% (reduction in domestic market of 8.1% and in export of 12.5%). Whereas most significant growth was observed in manufacture of other transport equipment (building of ships and boats, manufacture of railway locomotives and rolling stock) – of 36.3% (rise in export, but decrease in domestic market), in manufacture of machinery and equipment – of 28.6% (increase in domestic market 2.2 times, while in export – drop of 6.8%), in manufacture of chemicals and chemical products – of 22.7% (increase in domestic market of 4.9% and of 27.7% in export).
Compared to February 2011 manufacturing turnover at current prices (according to calendar adjusted data) in February 2012 has grown by 8.9%, of which in domestic market - by 10% and in export - by 8%. Increase in the manufacturing turnover was mainly influenced by the sub-sectors of wood-processing, non-metallic mineral products, fabricated metal products and repair and installation of machinery and equipment.
Remarkable turnover rise was recorded in manufacture of chemicals and chemical products – 2.1 times (of 11.8% in domestic market and 2.5 times in export), in repair and installation of machinery and equipment – of 93.7% (of 93.7% in domestic market and 93.7% in export).
